On December 6, 2022, Shenyang Paidelin Technology Co., Ltd. held the first defect intelligent recognition "human-machine challenge". The challenge was conducted using the radiographic inspection remote assessment cloud platform. The artificial team is composed of 13 non-destructive testing engineers who have been specializing in AI defect intelligent identification and labeling for more than 2 years, and their opponent is the defect intelligent evaluation system. A total of 130 welds were selected as defect evaluation questions in this competition, and the evaluation standard was SY/T4109-2020. In the end, 13 NDT engineers each took 2 hours to complete the topic, of which the highest score was 98 points, the lowest score was 71 points, and the average score was 89 points; The defect intelligent assessment system took 6 minutes and 20 seconds and scored 94 points.
The winning of the intelligent assessment system fully demonstrates the feasibility of artificial intelligence recognition technology in the field of intelligent identification of weld defects. The evaluation of industrial radiographic images is highly interfered by human factors, and the uneven technical level of NDT engineers or the different understanding of the evaluation scale can easily lead to inaccurate evaluation results. The intelligent assessment system will be accurately evaluated according to unified standards and massive data sources, which has very strong application potential and broad prospects in industrial ray defect assessment. With the help of artificial intelligence, it is the general trend to achieve accurate evaluation of industrial ray defects, greatly improve the evaluation accuracy and work efficiency, and remove human instability factors.

The application of this human-machine challenge is the remote assessment cloud platform for radiographic inspection, which is a comprehensive application system for radiographic image management and evaluation based on big data and artificial intelligence technology.
